The best airports are different from mediocre ones by their successful strategy. Even today some of them reach revenues of 70% not typical of aviation industry and increase the passenger traffic 10 times within 4 years, like, for example, the airport in Katowice (Poland). Or they become important transit hubs from one end of the world to another, like the airport of Almaty (Kazakhstan).
Strategic’s experts were studying the experience of foreign and domestic airports, investigating the prospects of Odessa, as of a transport hub, and the trends of the aviation industry for more than 2 months. This work resulted into a strategic session held together with the management team of the airport, which lasted for three days. Successful business models of modern airports, creation of the value and pleasant experience for passengers and business partners, as well as alternative scaling options were discussed during that session. As the result the airport received a draft vision and the strategy to achieve the goals set.
